Terms, in plain words

heywhim makes Doodle Alive, which brings children’s drawings to life, and Whim, whose short, curious stories are for the whole family. These are the few rules for using Doodle Alive, and for watching and sharing Whim’s videos.

Who we are

heywhim (heywhim.ai) is a small team led by a parent in Singapore. “We” and “us” on this page mean the heywhim team. Questions: [email protected].

Doodle Alive

Doodle Alive (draw.heywhim.ai) turns a child’s drawing into a short video of it moving. It’s for children, with a grown-up: the grown-up signs in with their email and says go before each drawing is brought to life.

  • Your drawings are yours. So are the movies made from them. By bringing a drawing to life, you let us and the AI service we use process it to make the video, and keep it on our server for 7 days before deleting it (see the privacy notice). Doodle Alive doesn’t keep a gallery of past videos, so save the movie when it’s made.
  • Use it for drawings. Please only use drawings: not photos of people, and nothing you don’t have the right to use.
  • AI makes the video. We do our best, but a video can come out odd, or not come out at all. It may not look exactly like the drawing.
  • Credits. Each drawing brought to life uses one credit. You top up credits in your heywhim account (identity.heywhim.ai), and Stripe takes the payment. The terms for buying them (prices, refunds and how long credits last) will be added here before top-ups open.
  • Fair use. We may sign out or close an account that misuses Doodle Alive.

Whim’s videos

Whim’s videos on TikTok (@heywhim.ai) and YouTube (@heywhim) are short, curious stories for families to enjoy together: simple enough for children, with real facts for the grown-ups too. They’re made with AI tools (pictures, animation and voice). We check them, but they can still contain small mistakes, so treat them as fun learning, not as a reference.

Watching and sharing

You’re welcome to watch our videos and share them with TikTok’s and YouTube’s own share buttons. Please don’t re-upload, edit or sell them as your own. The videos, the Whim character and the name “Whim” are ours.

How we post

We publish our videos with an internal tool that connects only our own TikTok and YouTube accounts, and uses them only to upload our videos. It isn’t offered to anyone else. Our privacy notice explains what it keeps.

The platforms’ rules

Watching Whim on TikTok or YouTube is also covered by their own terms and privacy policies.

No guarantees

The videos are provided as they are. We may change or remove them at any time.

Changes

If we change these terms, we’ll update them here and change the date at the top.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore.
